Men's Club In Motion
The Men’s Club is planning a number of projects for the upcoming year.As Men’s Club President, I plan to have an ongoing dialogue regarding the inclusion of men in synagogue activity. I am interested in hearing from anyone that would like to explore and discuss this topic and see where we can go with it. Here are the plans to date for the year:
• Ushering for the High Holidays - In cooperation with the Religious and Ritual Committee, the Men’s Club will be opening up the “Usher Corps” to the entire congregation, both men and women. Please contact the Temple office, 708-748- 6010, if you would enjoy volunteering.• Friday, September 19th, Men’s Club Membership BBQ. Help to build and take down our sukkah
• 6th, 7th 8th & 9th grade “Team Building and Leadership” outing at Iron Oaks this fall - We need assistance from people that are familiar with teambuilding and leadership training skills who would enjoy working on this important project.• Seder Seminar leaders - We are considering a breakfast seminar to develop ways to enhance and lead a Seder.
• 7th & 8th Grade Student Shoah Project. In years past, this program helped our students become teachers as they develop a positive message from the Shoah and offer it to our community and their school.• Men’s Club Veterans Day Service on November 21st
• Mishuganah Menorahs. We will be continuing our tradition of providing the “nuts and bolts” needed for our young students to make their own Hanukia so they can light up our lives with their creations!If you have any ideas or comments, please call me at 630-660-2833 or drop an e-mail to risingstarbrands@msn.com.
