Temple Anshe Sholom prides itself on its strong youth programs.  Students are encouraged to participate in the Youth Choir from 3rd through 6th grade and enjoy going to the annual youth choir retreat at Olin Sang Ruby Union Institute Camp in the spring of each year.  Our 5th through 8th graders can participate in the Chevrutaynu program, which features meetings, activities, and an annual retreat to OSRUI.  Once in high school, our students participate in the High School Havurah program, combining a youth group with continuing high school religious education.  Some of the highlights of the High School Havurah program include special Monday night programming and trips to Washington D.C. and to Israel.

Nine of our High School Havurah students journeyed to Washington, D.C. to attend the L'Taken Seminar sponsored by the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism.

Another wonderful year is coming to an end and, as always, that means graduations and Confirmation will be taking place.

On May 2nd, at Shabbat Services, we will celebrate the graduation of our 7th grade Hebrew school class.  On May 9th, we will celebrate our High School Havurah Graduation. High School Havurah students and their families will have the opportunity to have dinner with our visiting presidential historian, Dr. Robert Watson. Dinner will begin at 5:45 p.m.  Following dinner, our students will have a question and answer session with our scholar prior to Services at 7:30 p.m.

Our 10th grade students will celebrate their Confirmation on June 8th at 7:30 p.m.

Finally, I want to thank Deb Feingold and Beth Lichtenberg for chairing the Religious School Committee this year. I would also like to thank the hard working committee members, the Room Parents for making all those reminder phone calls and our teachers, whose dedication and knowledge make for an outstanding learning environment for our students.
